  • 6 cup milk – Yogurt will be tastier if you use milk with 2.8% or 3.2% milk fat
  • 2/3 cup plain yogurt with active cultures

Pour the milk into the VitaClay Smart Organic Multi-Cooker. To heat the milk used slow cooker’s reheat setting. Alarm is set to beep when the temp reaches 110 degrees because even after shutting off the machine, the temp still rises another 10-20 degrees before dropping again.

Once the milk is at 120 degrees spoon some of the warm milk into the starter yogurt and mix, just enough to make it soupy. Pour the mixture into the warm milk, move to the slow cooker, cover and let sit for 8 hours. You want to keep it as close to 120 for as long as possible. Also make sure you keep the slow cooker off. After 8 hours remove the lid and you have homemade yogurt!

  • Yogurt can be used for salty and sweet dishes (fruit yogurt)
  • The caloric value of yogurt is low. Recommended 2 milk meals a day, as 2 cups of yogurt
  • Keep the yogurt in the fridge because there are no preservatives in it as a purchase, so it is perishable
